Old meets New with TSTR #25

Happy Monday and welcome to an all new challenge from The Shabby Tea Room! :) The theme to this week's challenge is "Old meets New" - create a project using something old and new. Our generous sponsor this week is not only The Shabby Tea Room Creator, but owner of Deb's Simple Treasures - Debbie Marcinkiewicz. Debbie has generously donated 6 yards of Shabby Vintage Seam Binding, and also a stamp donated by Pattie Goldman
for this week's winner.

This card was created based off of this week's theme using DP from K&Company, stamp from Tim Holtz, flowers from Melissa Frances, misc. feather, pearl adhesives and of course shabby seam binding ribbon from Deb's Simple Treasures.

hoo!hoo!hoo! - TSTR #24

Good morning and a happy Monday to you! Are you ready for another fun challenge from The Shabby Tea Room? I know that as a follower, I always looked forward to Mondays, and a new challenge! :)

Well, with that being said......this week's challenge you have been given a much different photo for inspiration from last week, and asked to use metal in your creation. Easy peasey! :) Our sponsor this week is Some Odd Girl . If you haven't had a chance to check them out, please do! They have some of the most fun and whimsical digital images! They were very generous and supplied us with our choice of a digital image - I chose "hoot".

This was a challenge for me because (a) I don't consider myself a stamper, (b) these colors are totally outside the box for me - as is this type of design, and (c) I am very new to using Copics. No pink, no pearls, no shabby seam binding ribbon - I am having serious withdrawls! :) Hopefully, next week!

Papers used are from Imaginisce, ribbon, button, twine and cardstock from Papertrey Ink, misc. photo turns and Copics of course!

Looking for more inspiration.....please take a peek at all the other "Shabby Girls" designs for this week!

A New Little Someone - TSTR #23

It's Monday, and the only thing good I can find about Monday is.........a whole new challenge from The Shabby Tea Room. This week's challenge, we were given a beautiful inspirational photo, and asked to design a card/project incorporating roses into our creation. Our host for this week is Squigglefly , who has one of the largest selections of digital images I have ever seen and you too, have the opportunity to win some of their beautiful images! :) We as DT members were given the wonderful opportunity of choosing an image (thank you Squigglefly) for this week's challenge, I chose "Bouncing Buggy". :)

I had alot of fun adding embellishments to my sweet little image. Lots of little goodies added here, so be sure to look closely. It was really hard to photograph this card so that all the detail could be seen. I hope you like it! :)

Papers used are from Graphic45, chipboard heart from Maya Road, glitter from Martha Stewart, buttons, twine and rubberstamped sentiment from Papertrey Ink, paper roses from Prima, misc. felt, paper doily, rhinestone adhesives, crocheted trim and shabby seam binding ribbon.

Looking for more inspiration.....please take a peek at all the other "Shabby Girls" designs for this week!

Secondly, this week in the Tea Room we have a "Follow Me Contest"!

Card Style Shabby Chic and Vintage Challenge

I decided to take a stroll thru "Bloggy Land" and fell upon this challenge at Moxie Fab World that is "right up my shabby little alley". :) So out came some of my favorites and a little cutting and sewing and this is what I came up with.

Paper and flower from Prima, cardstock and ink from Papertrey Ink, decorative pin from Maya Road, decorative buttons from Jenni Bowlin, diecut from Spellbinders, vintage label stamp from Waltzing Mouse Stamps {heart, heart, heart}, misc. crocheted trim and shabby seam binding ribbon.

I decided because the colors were somewhat faded to take this photo outside on an old bench that I usually have a planter on. I think it turned out fairly well - you can certainly see the colors for their true color.

Off to post my card........thanks for looking and good luck to all! Cathy xx :)

Off to post my card and then to the grocery store! Thanks for taking a peek - Cathy
